Why is it that President G.W. Bush is known as “Bush”; President Bill Clinton was known as “Clinton”; President Ronald Reagan was known as “Reagan”, but Senator Barack Obama is known as “Barack”. Since when has the news media become on such a friendly first name basis with our politicians. In my own opinion, it started when they all threw their opinionated news shows in the direction of their new best friend, “Barack”.
Hmmm, let’s take a closer look at the friends of CNN and MSNBC’s man of choice for the Presidency of our United States. These are people who will influence his day to day decisions.
1). His retired Pastor, Jeremiah White, spouts racist remarks almost as often as he writes them in book form. For example, “Black women are being raped daily in Darfur, Sudan, in the Congo and in Sub-Saharan Africa. That doesn’t make news,” Wright said in the August 2005 edition of Trumpet Magazine, a publication of his Trinity United Church of Christ. But, “One 18-year-old white girl from Alabama gets drunk on a graduation trip to Aruba, goes off and ‘gives it up’ while in a foreign country, and that stays in the news for months!” he added. “Maybe I am missing something!” Well, you might be missing the fact that out of all of those women mentioned above, Natalee seems to be the only American. Maybe that would be why it was all over our national news for months.
2). Obama fashioned his book “The Audacity of Hope” after a sermon his former Pastor, whom he apparently respects enough to quote, wrote. He seems to trust the opinion of this Pastor quite a lot. Which makes number 3 below quite disturbing.
3). Pastor Jeremiah White’s daughter presented the Dr. Jeremiah A. White Jr. Trumpeter Award to none other than Louis Farrakhan, um yeah, now he’s a real upstanding man. Farrakhan, a known Muslim, pro-activist for racism (especially against the Jews). Is there any wonder that many people thought Barack Obama was Muslim? He seems to align himself in that direction whether he says he is Christian or not.
4). Michelle Obama stated, “the first time” in her adult life,” she was proud to be an American. What? This from the woman who sits across from Obama at the dinner table, who lies next to him in bed, and who wants to be the First Lady of the United States? You better believe he holds her opinion in a well respected light. I, personally, do not want that type of opinion of America being spouted by MY first lady.
5). Tony Rezko. Need I say more? He is being tried in court on fraud and exhortion. This is a nice guy for someone who wants to be President to do business with, huh?
I would really like to hear more about these things. Why is he so protected? And why are black American’s known as African-American? Aren’t we all just Americans? Whether black, brown, red, yellow or white. Can’t we all just be plain old Americans? Good grief, anyone who has to be “this-American, or that-American” should just move to the country before “….-American”, because that is what and where they would rather be.
Good night, from an American.
