July 2008

House speaker, Nancy Pelosi, has decided today that America is not a land that runs on the democratic process.  Those representatives, whom we all voted for, were not allowed to do their job today; voicing the desires of those who put them in their current positions.  And for what reason?  A power hungry, Pelosi, has deemed it more beneficial to the citizens of the United States to stall the process of democracy by squashing the democrats and republicans from discussing whether or not to continue the ban on oil in the United States.  How she could  stop a vote on this issue is curious, given that the recent CNN poll shows 73% of Americans now in favor of the offshore drilling of oil.

This should worry Americans because if something were to happen to our President or Vice President, this is the person who would be placed into the oval office.  Pretty scarey isn’t it?

Today the House of the United States apologized to black Americans for the the hardships that the black people endured over the past 100+ years.  That’s nice.  But was it really necessary?  Expeditious, yes.  But necessary, no.

I find it interesting that in the article, found at FoxNews.com, quoted the following individuals, democrat Carolyn Cheeks of Michigan, democrat Thomas Cohen of Tennessee (the initiator of the item),  democrat John Conyers of Michigan, and democrat Charles Rangel of New York.

Funny how they all seem to be of the liberal left, isn’t it?  And very interesting, that Cohen, the founder of this item to apologize to blacks, happens to be the only white lawmaker representing a majority black community…and who is up for re-election this Fall.

It is almost laughable how when an election year comes around and you have a black presidential candidate running that things lean so far to the left in order to appease the black population.  I am sure that the white students attending the University of Tennessee (a majority rule of black students) are waiting an apology from the black students who made racial slurs directed toward them while attending there.  For example,

“Since the Federal order was issued in 1984, (to make the almost all black college at least 50% white) the percentage of white students at Tennessee State has fluctuated, finally growing to 34.5 percent last fall, from 31.2 percent in 1985. The effort has not always gone smoothly. Dawn Vaden, an 18-year-old nursing major who is white, said repeated slurs by blacks have made her feel unwelcome. Her father gave her a canister of Mace after she decided to attend the university. She lives in an off-campus apartment, and her parents have forbidden her to take evening courses that would cause her to be on campus at night.  “I don’t think it will ever be 50-50,” Miss Vaden said. “This is their school. I don’t think they are going to give it up.’”   http://exemployee.wordpress.com/2008/03/22/barack-obama-political-speech-and-the-black-community/

This was not an act of sorrow over the past, let us not make that error in logic.  This was a calculated act to bring the blacks alongside each member that voted for it.  This was a calculated decision to dangle a carrot out there for the black community to see and feel warm and fuzzy over.  This was a calculated effort to appear as if now was the time for this great and benevolent act of humility.  This was calculated, period.  As is most things done by the democrats.  Barack Obama has learned how to manipulate this system from some of the best manipulators.

My only question is this.  So, now what are we suppose to do…reparation?

Catch the sarcism, there?  Good, because that was how it was intended.

I throw this question out there to the wind.  I just read the most insane blog written by another blogger who says that Fox News is biased and taking their talking points from the White House.  Their facts coming from the Far Left Liberal MSNBC, (no fair and balanced reporting here guys, make no mistake).  Watch and be amazed.

I am always alittle dazed after reading, or seeing, something like this.  Isn’t Keith Olberman the same guy who, on July 21, 2008 slammed an elderly war veteran (83 years-old), for as Olbermann said it was, “a slob”, “dangerously deluded”, and “a clown”.  This is a real educated reporting style, wouldn’t you say?  Keith Olbermann degrades Fox News for trying to show BOTH sides, yet openingly pushes a leftist liberal agenda each day on his show.  Come on now.  Who is being biased in their reporting?  Seems to be to be like the pot calling the kettle black.

I AM NEVER AT A LOSS TO SAY “WHAT THE HECK IS HE TALKING ABOUT?”

BARACK OBAMA SEEMS TO LIKE TO SLAP OUR MILITARY IN THE FACE WHENEVER HE CAN GET THE CHANCE.  NOW HE DEEMS IT CREDIBLE TO HUMILIATE THEM AND THEN SAY HE DID IT FOR THEIR OWN GOOD.

I DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I WOULD LIKE MY PRESIDENT TO SET THE PRECEDENT THAT OUR WOUNDED MEN AND WOMEN IN UNIFORM ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE MERE ANNOYANCE OF NOT BEING ABLE TO HAVE ANY MEDIA COVERAGE TO PRESENT IT.  hE CHOSE NOT TO GO SEE THEM NOT BECAUSE IT WAS PROTECTING THEM, BUT BECAUSE HE COULDN’T BE PHOTOGRAPHED VISITING THEM.

AGAIN, HE DOES EVERYTHING FOR THE BENEFIT OF BARACK OBAMA.  NOT FOR THE BENEFIT OF HIS COUNTRY OR THOSE DEFENDING HER.

Okay, let’s all take a deep breath and remember how we all felt right after 9/11.  We loved George W. Bush for his strong and unwavering attitude to protect us from villians and terrorists.

And the media loved him for it.  Below find his approval rating from May 2001 to March of 2003.

Has America forgotten that he said on September 20, 2001 ”Americans are asking:  How will we fight and win this war?   We will direct every resource at our command — every means of diplomacy, every tool of intelligence, every instrument of law enforcement, every financial influence, and every necessary weapon of war — to the disruption and to the defeat of the global terror network. This war will not be like the war against Iraq a decade ago, with a decisive liberation of territory and a swift conclusion.  It will not look like the air war above Kosovo two years ago, where no ground troops were used and not a single American was lost in combat.  Our response involves far more than instant retaliation and isolated strikes.  Americans should not expect one battle, but a lengthy campaign, unlike any other we have ever seen.  It may include dramatic strikes, visible on TV, and covert operations, secret even in success.  We will starve terrorists of funding, turn them one against another, drive them from place to place, until there is no refuge or no rest.  And we will pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism.  Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists.  (Applause.)  From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime. Our nation has been put on notice:  We are not immune from attack.  We will take defensive measures against terrorism to protect Americans.”

We were then, all for this war.  We all shared in the decision to begin it, and we applauded our President for his ability to stand strong and protect us.  But now, like small children who do not like to take responsibility for their decisions, many Americans (journalists included) are blaming the man that has protected our soil from futher terrorist action.  How soon the mighty forget.  As our President’s approval rating falls, take note America, you are voting also against yourself.  The below poll was done by The New York Times from 2001 – 2003.

Is your memory that short?

Change We Can Believe In As Long As We Submit

Change We Can Believe In As Long As We Submit

Change:

“I wish we had time to be divided. I wish we had time to be upset. To be angry. To be disappointed. I wish we did. Because if we had time for that, then things wouldn’t be so bad right now. Instead, we’re in a place where another four or eight years of the world as it is will devastate the life of some child.”    -Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama seems to be always be whining.  My question to her is, “who in their right mind wants to be divided? ”  Division never solved anything but it does produce discord.  I would say that the Obama campaign, for all of it’s spouting of bringing us all together, has done nothing but cause huge crevices to form between racial lines.  My next question would be “why don’t we have time to be upset?”  I have all of the time in the world, that is unless the Lord comes back tonight, and at that point, I don’t think I really would care too much about any of this.  To be angry and disappointed?  Oh, yes, I am angry and deeply disappointed that two people who have taken advantage of the educational processes of our United States would use their education to belittle their government.

I am angry that “things” seem bad right now.  I choose not to participate in this recession.  Gas prices, for one, wouldn’t be an issue if six years ago our Democratic Congress had passed the bill that President Bush put in front of them so that we could start drilling offshore for our own oil.  Now the Democrats are whining that even if we started to drill today we wouldn’t be able to get that oil for six to ten years.  Do they really not see the illogical way they have been thinking. It is not President Bushes fault that we don’t have our own oil today, it is theirs for not passing the bill to allow offshore drilling six years ago.

           Submit:

“If we don’t wake up as a nation with a new kind of leadership…for how we want this country to work, then we won’t get universal health care,” she said.

Universal healthcare.  It’s such a great thing that we have thousands of foreigners leaving their univeral healthcare systems and coming to America to get their heart surgery, plastic surgery, etc…  Universal healthcare is just another way to make me pay into a system that is sub-par so others can also get sub-par coverage that aren’t paying as much into it.

“The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more.”    -Michelle Obama

You know what?  I don’t have that much of a pie left after paying for my mortgage, my gas, my electric, my car, my taxes that get divyed up to this program and that program to share another penny with someone else.  I say, let them go out and get a job of their own.  Or better yet, quit giving out money to people who really shouldn’t be getting it.  Then maybe we’d have enough of what everyone is already putting in to go around to those who really deserve and need it.

“Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed.”   -Michelle Obama

I don’t normally swear, but who the hell is Barack Obama to ”require” me to do anything.  Even if he were President of the United States, the only thing that he could require of me is to pay my taxes.  If I want to be cynical I certainly will.  If I don’t want to agree with you, I won’t.  If I want to be isolated, it’s my own business to be; so stay out of my bubble.  And mind your own business.  Don’t push things down my throat.  LESS GOVERNMENT.  That is what this country is all about.  That is why the first Pilgrims moved here, to get away from tyranical rule.  Good grief.

It is almost impossible to write a more eloquently written piece on whites and blacks than that of which Michelle Obama has written.  Read on, these are insights into the mind of the woman who wants to be the First Lady of America, courtesy of http://husaria.wordpress.com/2008/05/29/barack-and-michelle-obamas-black-nationalism-in-their-own-words/

From her essay  “Princeton Educated Blacks and the Black Community,”

“Earlier in my college career, there was no doubt in my mind that as a member of the Black community I was somehow obligated to this community and would use all of my present and future resources to benefit this community first and foremost. My experiences at Princeton have made me more aware of my “Blackness” than ever before.         Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama

…and further in her essay she states:

“Elements of Black culture which make it unique from White culture such as its music, its language, the struggles and a “consciousness” shared by its people may be attributed to the injustices and oppression suffered by this race of people which are not comparable to the experiences of any other race of people through this country’s history. However, with the increasing integration of Blacks into the mainstream society, many “integrated Blacks” have lost touch with the Black culture in their attempts to become adjusted and comfortable in their new culture–the White culture. Some of these Blacks are no longer able to enjoy the qualities which make Black culture so unique or are unable to share their culture openly with other Blacks because they have become so far removed from these experiences and, in some instances, ashamed of them because of their integration.”                                                              Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama

It is amazing to me that the people of America have become so enarmoured with Barack and Michelle Obama.  They are not happy with being Americans.  By their own words they are “embarrassed” and “not proud” of America.  Yet, ironically, they want to lead this country.

I am not opposed to equal rights, but equal for all people not just the black community.  I am amazed that Michelle Obama does not want the integration of blacks into the mainstream society.  Isn’t that what all of the screaming and yelling is about?  To be treated equally, to have the same chance at social growth as whites?  Excuse me, but I am terribly confused by this reversal of thought by Michelle Obama.  And they want us to believe they never heard Rev. Jeremiah Wright preaching this same rhetoric from his pulpit?  I am not an idiot.

Our Supreme Court Justices make decisions that affect the lives of everyday Americans, in cases that many of us never hear anything about.  Their decisions are hard to overturn.  Case in point, Roe v. Wade.  Here is a look at our Justices of today:

John Roberts, John Paul Stevens, Antonin Scalia, Anthony Kennedy, David Souter, Clarence Thomas, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Stephen Breyer and Samuel Alito (Official US Supreme Court Photos)

From Top Left, US Supreme Court Justices: John Roberts, John Paul Stevens, Antonin Scalia, Anthony Kennedy, David Souter, Clarence Thomas, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Stephen Breyer and Samuel Alito (Official US Supreme Court Photos)

Now, let’s take a little closer look at the potential retirements we could be facing within the next four years.

John Roberts:  Age 53     -  Conservative – Probably won’t retire

John Paul Stevens, 88      - Liberal  – Probably will retire

Antonin Scalia, 72          -  Conservative – Probably won’t retire

Anthony Kennedy, 71      - Swing Vote  – Probably won’t retire

David Souter, 68             - Liberal -  Probably won’t retire

Clarence Thomas, 60       – Conservative – Probably won’t retire

Ruth Bader Ginsburg, 75  – Liberal  – Possibly could retire

Stephen Breyer, 69          - Liberal  -  Probably won’t retire

Samuel Alito, 58             - Conservative – Probably won’t retire

So, as you can see, there is a probability of two liberal retirees from our Supreme Court.  If Barack Obama is the President that fills those two positions we will have a liberal court for a lengthy time, seeing that the ages of the other justices are quite young in todays new standards.  Can we afford to have that happen?

Mary Katherine Ham, a writer for the Townhall Magazine, worked an interesting little piece.  Actually, she just quoted someone we all have heard speaking for the past three years.  Barack Obama.  Here’s what he had to say in May of 2008:

“Strong countries and strong leaders meet with their adversaries.  That’s what Kennedy did with Kruschesev.  That’s what Reagan did with Gorbechev.  That’s what Nixon did with Mao.  I mean, think about it.  Iran, Cuba, Venezuela-these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union.  They don’t pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a serious threat to us.”

And again, just the day after he made the above statement, he said this:

“Iran is a grave threat,  It has an illicit nuclear program.  IT supports terrorism across the region and militias in Iraq.  It threatens Israel;s existence.  It denies the Holocaust.  The reason Iranis so much more powerful than it was a few years ago is because of the Bush-McCain policy of fighting in Iraq and refusing to pursue direct diplomacy with Iran.  They’re the ones who have not dealt with Iran wisely.”

"will cut of hands" of U.S. and Israel                          Sure, I know what I'm talkin' about - Not a direct quote

“will cut of hands” of U.S. and Israel

So, do we trust him to make snap decisions when it comes to our government policy concerning mad men like Mahmoud?  I don’t think so.

CBS will broadcast a live townhall style meeting from 9 to 11 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, Aug. 11. The presidential candidates will be asked questions directly from an audience of about 6,000 people, including veterans, active military members and their families. John McCain has accepted the invitation, Barack Obama has declined.  This is a firm slap in the face to our military members, both serving now and retired.

Obama’s representative for veterans, Phillip Carter, a former military soldier who served in Iraq, stated“Senator Obama strongly supports America’s veterans and military families and has worked hard on their behalf in the Senate. While we unfortunately had a previously scheduled commitment on the date proposed, Senator Obama looks forward to continuing the dialogue he’s been having throughout the country with veterans on how we can better serve our men and women in uniform as they serve us.”

However, Carissa Picard, managing director of the Fort Hood Presidential Town Hall Consortium, has stated that she has spoken with the Obama campaign, ”I’m having extreme difficulty getting the Obama campaign to commit to this event, and we do not understand why. We made it very clear to them that if they would commit to the event, we would work with them on dates.”

This is not unusual for Obama to decide to withdraw from any type of open-mic forum.  John McCain, who will be at the Aug. 11 televised townhall meeting, challenged Obama on June 4th, 2008 to attend ten townhall style debates throughout the summer and up until the November election.

Barack Obama declined the invitation then, and he continues to decline townhall style debate forums.  This is possibly due to the increasingly noticable effect open-mic forums have on Obama.

Barack Obama’s inability to speak without the use of notes or telepromters should trigger cause for alarm since the leader of The United States is considered by most nations to be the voice of reason in the world.  That voice should be clear, concise, and intelligible.  It is at these times, Obama tends to wear thin on intelligent Americans.
