Something To Remember About Our President

Okay, let’s all take a deep breath and remember how we all felt right after 9/11.  We loved George W. Bush for his strong and unwavering attitude to protect us from villians and terrorists.

And the media loved him for it.  Below find his approval rating from May 2001 to March of 2003.

Has America forgotten that he said on September 20, 2001 ”Americans are asking:  How will we fight and win this war?   We will direct every resource at our command — every means of diplomacy, every tool of intelligence, every instrument of law enforcement, every financial influence, and every necessary weapon of war — to the disruption and to the defeat of the global terror network. This war will not be like the war against Iraq a decade ago, with a decisive liberation of territory and a swift conclusion.  It will not look like the air war above Kosovo two years ago, where no ground troops were used and not a single American was lost in combat.  Our response involves far more than instant retaliation and isolated strikes.  Americans should not expect one battle, but a lengthy campaign, unlike any other we have ever seen.  It may include dramatic strikes, visible on TV, and covert operations, secret even in success.  We will starve terrorists of funding, turn them one against another, drive them from place to place, until there is no refuge or no rest.  And we will pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism.  Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists.  (Applause.)  From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime. Our nation has been put on notice:  We are not immune from attack.  We will take defensive measures against terrorism to protect Americans.”

We were then, all for this war.  We all shared in the decision to begin it, and we applauded our President for his ability to stand strong and protect us.  But now, like small children who do not like to take responsibility for their decisions, many Americans (journalists included) are blaming the man that has protected our soil from futher terrorist action.  How soon the mighty forget.  As our President’s approval rating falls, take note America, you are voting also against yourself.  The below poll was done by The New York Times from 2001 – 2003.

Is your memory that short?

  1. Twelve magicians and two carnies have been shot dead doing the bullet catch. That’s cool enough, but every night when we close our show with that trick and the loaded gun gets pointed in my face, it goes so far beyond cool. All I can think is 12 magicians, two carnies.PennJillettePenn Jillette, of Penn & Teller

  2. I don’t quite understand the quote from Penn and Teller…is it for gun control or against it? I, for one, am for it. By the way, do you know whatever happened to that father of the 11 year old girl who defended herself with a gun in Montana killing the burglars? She shot two illegals breaking into her home possibly to rob, rape, or who knows what, and they arrested her father for leaving guns out for a child to get ahold of. She was a champion gun shooter. I think he should have been given a metal.
