I love getting comments from readers that turn out to be just too blog worthy. Here is one I’d like to share with you. The commentors name is JAMES.
“Despite perceptions that Sen. John McCain has spent more time on the attack, Sen. Barack Obama aired more negative advertising last week than did the Arizona Republican, says a study released yesterday.
Seventy-seven percent of the Illinois Democrat’s commercials were negative during the week after the Republican National Convention, compared with 56 percent of the spots run by McCain.
“If we’re going to ask questions about, you know, who has been promulgating negative ads that are completely unrelated to the issues at hand, I think I win that contest pretty handily,” Obama said.
I had to stop studying long enough to share this interesting little tidbit that Andy Ostroy wrote on September 14, 2008. It just proves how threatened and scared the Democrats are getting over our Sarah Palin. And I say, “Good for us”.
Ostroy states in his blog, “Sen. Joe Biden’s a perfectly appropriate vice presidential running-mate for Sen. Barack Obama. He’s got 36 years of Senate experience, is a true intellect, a foreign policy expert, and a genuinely nice guy. But ever since Sen. John McCain added plucky Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to his ticket, the old adage nice guys finish last is beginning to take on new meaning in this year’s presidential contest. It’s time to dump Biden and replace him with Sen. Hillary Clinton. I don’t care how it’s done. Campaign chief David Axelrod can figure that out. And the sooner the better. Because I’m starting to think that if Team-Obama doesn’t do something dramatic fast, it’s gonna lose this election. There’s a worrisome shift in momentum and in the polls. The Palin phenomenon, while truly unfathomable to Democrats, has energized McCain’s campaign and allowed him like Houdini to snatch Obama’s “change” theme right out from under him. It’s time to snatch it back.”
Isn’t it fascinating how quickly they turn on each other? I mean, just this past summer the Obama camp was throwing everyone under the bus. Just ask Hillary how the Democrats can turn on you. I think that might be happening with Joe Biden now. In fact, maybe he is doing it to himself and oiling the wheel to have Clinton take over for him since Sarah Palin’s popularity is destroying the Democrats hope for the White House. Joe Biden stated, “Make no mistake about this, Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Lets get that straight,” Biden said in Clinton’s defense. “She’s easily qualified to be vice president … and quite frankly, might have been a better pick than me. But she’s first rate. I mean that sincerely. She is first rate. So let’s get that straight.”
It has become quite apparent to me, a lowly blogger, that the democrats who troll the weblogs to read what people are saying about The One are irrate. Irrate to the point that they are name calling (a favorite past-time of democrats), lying, swearing, and quite louding screaming at me on the internet. It makes me smile, actually.
John McCain has got to be the freakiness smartest man in politics. I know one thing, I sure wouldn’t want to be playing across from him at a game of Texas Hold’Em. He knows how to play his cards way too well.
“Democratic organizers have claimed that the flags were not meant to be thrown in the trash, but according to a Fox News report, McCain supporters claim the vendor found the bagged flags in and around garbage bins following the Democratic National Convention. A group of Boy Scouts brought 84 garbage bags full of the discarded flags to the site of a Republican rally in Colorado Springs today, where veterans distributed them throughout the assembled crowd. McCain supporters waved the recycled flags and chanted “U.S.A.” as they welcomed Republican candidate John McCain and his running mate, Sarah Palin…….Patriotic symbolism has been a thorn in the side of the DNC and Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama throughout the campaign. As WND reported earlier, credentials for the national convention drew attention for portraying the elements of the U.S. flag upside down. Earlier in the campaign, Sen. Obama was photographed with Gov. Bill Richardson, Sen. Hillary Clinton and Ruth Harkin at a steak fry for Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin during the playing of the national anthem. Richardson, Clinton and Harkin placed their hands over their hearts, but Obama is standing casually with his fingers laced in front of him. He also previously said he doesn’t wear an American flag lapel pin because it has become a substitute for “true patriotism.” To an Iowa television station, the Illinois senator explained he stopped wearing a flag pin following the 9/11 attacks. ‘I decided I won’t wear that pin on my chest,’ he told the station. ‘Instead, I’m going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great.’ “
This will, again, make people wonder about Barack Obama’s love of his country, flag, and the citizen’s living here. I would suspect, (an opinion) that he would probably be okay with someone wanting to burn the flag on our own soil. By his own words he stopped wearing the flag after 9/11 when the majority of the nation, democrat and republican alike, couldn’t run to the stores fast enough to purchase a U.S. flag to mount on the outside of their homes. He doesn’t care for the U.S.
Barack Obama just doesn’t get that the flag is a part of our nation. Betsy Ross spent alot of time on the first thirteen stars, why can’t he respect that? Maybe it’s because she was a WOMAN.
“You never gave in. You never gave up. And together we made history.” - Hillary Clinton DNC Speech 2008
So let us break this tiny message down. “You” meaning her loyal supporters. “never gave in”. Not even when the media told them she was behind, that she was loser, did they give in and believe them. It was only after reigning Democrats in office refused to give her her delegates, and the remaining Super Delegates caved in, that she lost the primaries. Good for All of her faithful supporters. She is reminding them to still not give in. She is reminding them to never give up on her. Does she truly want them to cast their vote toward Obama? I don’t believe that in one instant. I think she, and her husband, can’t stand the guy. For that matter, the anger in Michelle Obama’s face as Hillary was addressed her adoring crowd was there for all of the world to see. Michelle knew what the message was really saying.
For what’s it’s worth, Hillary’s speech spoke more to the people who voted for her about their loyalty to her. She possibly mentioned Obama twice in this whole speech. To her loyal followers she encouraged them to “never give up, never give in.”
“I believe party unity calls for the delegates from Florida and Michigan to be able to participate fully alongside the delegates from the other states and territories,” -BARACK OBAMA
Amazing, isn’t it? He wouldn’t vote in favor for their votes to count when it came to REALLY counting in the Primaries. However now he believes they should be counted for unity sake in the Democratic Party. What if, when Hillary Clinton had asked that those votes count during the primaries, he would have allowed it then? Maybe people who only voted or him because it appeared Hillary would lose without those votes, would have actually voted for her instead. What a piece of work he is.
The co-chairs of the Credentials Committee, Alexis Herman, James Roosevelt Jr. and Eliseao Roques-Arroyo, stated in a letter released August 3, 2008, ”As always our goal is to ensure a fair process and a unified Democratric Party s that we can win in November.” They promised to make this decision a top priority.
Just another notch in my narcissist diagnosis of him. Just another “yep, that’s about right” in my opinion of his flip-flopping when it serves his purpose. Just another example of his arrogance. I wonder if Hillary is just sitting at home shaking her head?
“This month, 232 years ago, the great experiment was begun. From its humble beginnings, Americans grew to be the example of freedom and opportunity that it is today. People around the world-suffering under the rule of dictators, despots and tyranny-look toward America for freedom. People suffering from famine look toward Ameria for its generosity. People yearning for a better life seek our shores in hopes of the Amerian dream. Nevertheless, there are still those among us who believe America is on its way down - that America’s best days are behind us and that America is merely a force of imperalism and capitalistic greed.” -President Ronald Reagan, January 12, 1989
Unfortunately, most of the democrats that are behind Barack Obama feel the same way they do. They are children following the Pied Piper. They can’t hear their own brains think because of the screeching coming out of his pipe.
Ronald Reagan was right, there are still those among us who believe America is on its way down, remember this guy?
Sleep well my fellow American’s, because if Barack Obama becomes our next President, I foresee bad news for us.
A blogger wrote the following blog once, you might recognize it.
Bloggers’ rights: A quandary
“Freedom of expression is the key to all other rights in our American system of government, I am convinced. Defending the First Amendment becomes the way to defend all other rights. Telling the King he has no clothes, without fear of retribution, makes it possible to keep the King clothed.
I support most groups and efforts to defend and protect the First Amendment. I’ve been a member of the Society of Professional Journalists for most years since 1974, I’ve been a member of the National Freedom of Information coordinating committee, and I’ve worked in three states and the federal legislature to expand freedom of information, reporters’ access to information, and especially the people’s right to know.
In the press, there are few hard-core idiots. A few exist, but they are outweighed by the many who make sincere efforts to get the story right. That’s a long way of saying, it’s easy to support rights of people who aren’t always yapping at you. Their existence puts me in a little quandary, and I need to resolve it.
Last night I found one more deluded, on-line writer working against the First Amendment and, IMHO, hammering away at the foundations of the Constitution in other ways. (Incredibly, this guy asked Jonathan Rowe to abandon commenting at his blog, suggesting Rowe’s carefully crafted, court-tested, generally take-’em-to-the-bank correct ideas about history are “lies.” Yeah, he has a right to hold foolish opinions.)
Does he have a right to do that, on-line?
Yes he does have that right. As I’ve often said before, I put a lot of stock into the old Ben Franklin maxim that truth wins in a fair fight. So we need to keep the fight fair.
We also need to defend the rights of bloggers whose work helps expose the truth, even at the expense of defending the deluded writers who get it wrong.
What are blogger’s rights and protections? The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) put together a concise and nearly complete legal guide for bloggers — you can find it here.
EFF campaigns to protect and defend bloggers’ rights. Bloggers, and other supporters of freedom, should join that campaign. Millard Fillmore’s Bathtub will display a badge of the campaign to encourage others to join it.
SHAME ON YOU, WHO ALSO JUST HAPPENS TO BE THE AUTHOR OF THE ABOVE BLOG, TO TRY TO STOP MY FREEDOM OF SPEECH,
JOHN MCCAIN MADE A BOLD STATEMENT THE OTHER DAY ON THIS WEEK, McCain says: “If I had been told by the Pentagon that I couldn’t visit those troops, and I was there and wanted to be there, I guarantee you, there would have been a seismic event.”
NOW THAT IS WHAT A COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF SHOULD BE LIKE. HE SHOULDN’T PUT HIS TAIL BETWEEN HIS LEGS AND SAY AW SHUCKS, I’LL JUST GO TO THE GYM INSTEAD THEN. BARACK OBAMA DID THE WRONG THING. HE SHOULD AT LEAST OWN UP TO THIS.
THOSE SUPPORTING BARACK OBAMA TEND TO BE INSULTED BY THIS AD. BUT I SAY ALL IS FAIR IN THE GAME OF LOVE OF YOUR COUNTRY, AS LONG AS IT’S TRUE.
AND THEN THERE IS MY OWN AD (NOT YET ENDORSED, HA)
And then this from a commentor on my site: “This is what made the BIG news, but at least Obama was consistent in snubbing the soldiers. One commander was interviewed and is quoted as saying that as soon as Obama touched down in Afghanistan he ignored groups of soldiers who had been waiting there all day for a chance to meet the Senator, not necessarily because they were supporters, but because they were there and wanted a chance to meet him. He completely ignored these soldiers, went to his motorcade to be driven to where the commanding officers and upper brass were located. Its real easy to want to have video time in front of the commanding officers and to speak with them to look very “Commander in Chief” like, but it requires time, effort, and humility to meet with the very men who are daily in the trenches risking their life for the one who desires that position. Then again, Obama’s eliteness is above those soldiers. I agree with Mike Gallagher - There are some days I just have to believe this should be a blowout for McCain, knowing that if America used just a little bit of their common sense and instincts, Obama would not have a prayer to hold the office of President of the United States of America.” - www.nickcarnes.com
I think he misspoke again. What I think he meant to say is that this is a country built on Christian philosophy. One in which all people and all other religions are embraced…as long as that culture and that religion is not radically causing harm to those citizens living in this great country. What do you think?
So go grab your guns, hug your Bible, and tell Barack Obama he had better carefully choose his words because he misspeaks an awful lot. I don’t know about you but I am a Christian. If you are too, leave a comment here, and let’s add ourselves up. IN GOD WE TRUST…
Okay, just to set the record straight…I do not believe that Barack Obama is a “closet Muslim”. I don’t even care if he is Muslim. Just don’t lie to me about it.
Some of the most caring individuals that I have met have been from the Muslim religion. It is the radical one’s (as in any religion) that scare me. Why? Because they tend to cause harm to people in order to get their “cause” out there. Remember 9/11? Remember the U.S.S. Cole? Remember the Iran hostage scenario during the Jimmy Carter days? Not to mention other religious catastrophe’s such as, Jim Jones and the infamous “kool-aid”, the Heaven’s Gate suicide pact (where are the aliens), and the list can go on.
But please, know what you are saying, get your facts straight, and don’t try to make me drink the “kool-aid” if you want to be my President. For starters, I don’t think he is ready to be president. He gets too riled up when someone insults him. His wife needs to cool her heels abit; she’s not the one running for office. She needs to be taken aside and reminded that sometimes it “is better to be seen and not heard”. He is way too liberal. To the scarey side of scarey. And finally, he is too hasty in what comes out of his mouth. Barack, get the facts, and listen to the earpiece in your ear and repeat what is being said to you.
I would love for this country to step outside of the box and one day have a non-white president, or a non-male one. I just don’t see that happening this year.
